This year’s PCARET State Conference will be held on Thursday, November 7 at the Beck Agricultural Center, 4540 U.S. 52 West in West Lafayette. It’s a great way to interact with the volunteers who support and advance our Extension mission within the state legislature.
The conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. with an opening welcome by the Glenn W Sample Dean of Agriculture, Karen Plaut. We are again offering tours of campus facilities, which will put faces and names to the important work for which PCARET advocates.
This year, we have set up a simple online registration system: http://www.cvent.com/d/qyqy48. We encourage you to register online, but if you prefer, you may register over the phone by calling (765) 494-6794. This year, we will accept credit card payments with the online registration. If you do not pay by credit card, you should mail your $20 registration payment to Purdue Extension Education Store, 301 S 2nd Street, Lafayette IN 47901. All registrations must be completed no later than October 25.
As in previous years, if you know a high school student interested in Purdue’s College of Agriculture, College of Veterinary Medicine, or College of Health & Human Sciences, please bring them for a campus visit and recruiting trip. For promising young people interested in these programs, it’s a fine introduction to Purdue. However, because space is limited to 80 students, please be selective and limit the number of students you bring with your group to two. We encourage you to focus on students in grades 9 through 12. As always, registration and lunch for students are complimentary. Please register your students no later than October 25 at this link: http://www.cvent.com/d/qyqy48.
